How to add parents to your health plan

Adding a parent to your cover is possible, but it is priced on their age, and the loading at older ages is steep.

Sponsorship comes first

You generally need to be their sponsor for residency before they can join your plan.

Waiting periods

Expect waiting periods on pre-existing conditions, commonly six months. Declare everything – a non-disclosure gives the insurer grounds to decline later.

Cost

Premiums rise sharply with age. For parents over 60 a standalone plan is sometimes better value than adding them to yours. We can price both.
